Welcome to the Presbyterian Medical Clinic,
We are a Christian clinic located in the village of Patchakan in the northern part of Belize, Central America. Our clinic is a ministry of the Presbyterian Church of Belize. It is supported in part by Mission to the World, which is the mission agency of the Presbyterian Church in America. We serve people in need of medical care, from all religions, ethnic groups and nationalities who live in Belize.
The Presbyterian Medical Clinic (PMC) opened its doors in 1992 with the vision and construction directed by missionaries, Tom and Helen Lacey.
Today its vision statement reads: "To help the local church grow by ministering health to its members and evangelizing the un-reached."
As we care for our patients, we address their physical needs and also their spiritual needs, by praying for them and their families, helping them find hope through Scripture or a local pastor and church.
Recent happenings at the clinic........
We are closer to meeting our target of enrollment for our catchment population in the National Health Insurance of Belize! Pray that we can reach more of our local population for registration.
The village of Patchakan is currently facing a dengue fever epidemic! Pray that public health would find resources to do more spraying and pray for protection of those affected.
Volunteers and Happenings
The clinic staff enjoyed a "Thanksgiving" lunch for all the abundant blessings showered!
The clinic is working to fill-in for some staff members while they take maternity leave. You may see some new faces working here for a few weeks! Plans are underway for visitors coming in 2019. The summer interns have been chosen and visitors are being scheduled to assist with specialized care that the clinic will provide.
