Welcome to the Presbyterian Medical Clinic,
We are a missionary clinic located in the village of Patchakan in the northern part of Belize, Central America. Our clinic is a ministry of the Presbyterian Church of Belize. It is supported in part by Mission to the World, which is the missionary agency of the Presbyterian Church in America. We serve people in need of medical care, from all religions, ethnic groups and nationalities who live in Belize.
The Presbyterian Medical Clinic (PMC) opened its doors in 1992 with the vision and construction directed by missionaries, Tom and Helen Lacey.
Today its vision statement reads: "To help the local church grow by ministering health to its members and evangelizing the un-reached."
As we care for our patients, we address their physical needs and also their spiritual needs, by praying for them and their families, helping them find hope through Scripture or a local pastor and church.
Recent happenings at the clinic........
We are closer to meeting our target of enrollment for our catchment population in the National Health Insurance of Belize! Pray that we can reach more of our local population for registration into this government program that will assist in better community health promotion. Our current NHI patient count is 3,333. We are getting closer and closer to our goal of 4,000!
The clinic staff would like to thank our patients for their support and encouragement this year and wish them a very blessed and holy Christmas!
The Presbyterian Medical Clinic were blessed by 22 medical visitors this year! These helpful people served in medical specialities, dental services, nursing, pharmacy services, hearing testing and hearing aid distribution and reception front desk. Also, they brought needed training in the area of inservice, helped staff the clinic when regular staff took vacation, and did some needed building repairs. We are so thankful for their generousity of their money gifts, time, talent and education.
