Documents and Vaccines Needed
Copy of current passport (notarized) *Note: Some States may require a written statement from you saying that your copy is a "True Copy" and the notary can authenticate your signature only, not the copy itself. If you go to a notary, be sure to take your passport as well as the copy.
Copy of your current medical license (notarized)
Copy of your diploma (notarized)
Copy of Board Certification (notarized)
Copy of Controlled Substances Certification (notarized)
1 page application for Belize Medical Council (obtain from Mission to the World)
Mission to the World Application
Travel insurance (provided by MTW)
Up to date Hepatitis A and B vaccines
Typhoid vaccine
Up to date Tetanus Vaccine
Packing Suggestions:
Bible (Spanish/English, if you have one)
Scrubs for working in the clinic
Light-weight clothing for other activities
Appropriate church clothing (for ladies, knee-length skirt with top or modest dress; for men, collared shirt and slacks)
Sunscreen
Mosquito repellent
Small US bills ($1,$5,$10) (exchange rate is $1 US = $2 Belize)
Small flashlight
Modest swim suits (ie. One-piece for ladies) if you plan to go to the islands or other activity
Snacks for your flight
Good walking shoes
Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.)
Any personal medications (including Epipen for severe allergies)
Ear plugs
